- Nunzio (Nutzy) RUFFO was born about 1895 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. He died on 14 Oct 1962 in Martinsburg, Berkley Co., West Virginia. FROSTBURG — Nutzy Ruffo, 67, a native of Frostburg, died yesterday in Newton D. Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va., where he was a patient three weeks. He was a son of the late Antonio and Rosaria (Marro) Ruffo. Mr. Ruffo was a veteran of World War 1 and a retired barber. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Farrady Post 24 of the American Legion. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Louise Bittinger and Mrs. Gordon Right, Frostburg; Sister Magdaline of Holy Cross Convent, Baltimore, and Mrs. George Murphy, Akron, Ohio; three sons, Anthony F. Ruffo, North Forestville, Md., Sgt. Joseph H. Ruffo of the U. S. Army stationed in Germany, and John A. Ruffo, Eckhart; four sisters, Mrs. Emma LaManna and Mrs. Enrico Peretti, Frostburg; and Mrs. Frank Mele, and Mrs. William T. Jenkins, Washington, D. C.; five brothers, Frank, John, Samuel and Carl Ruffo, Frostburg, and Joseph Ruffo, LaVale; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a. m. in St. Michael's Catholic Church and interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home tomorrow at 8 p. m. Graveside services will be conducted by members of Farrady Post, American Legion of Frostburg.
