Died 1859 in Union County, Il(near Cobden).Military Service:Between 9/23/1814-2/28/1815,Pvt,War of 1812,Capt Thomas D Carr's Co.,3rd Reg, Ga State Troops(Colonel Ignatius A Few)roll of 1814 at Camp Jackson; roll of 1815 at Camp Covington. Also served as Pvt in the Florida War with the Seminole Indians, Capt Benj, Martin's Co.
Married to Abashaba Beersheba Hodges, born 1801 died 1857. 7 children: Hezekiah born 1822, James 1827, Lewis 1828, John 1833, Sarah 1835, Elizabeth 1837 and Caroline 1841.
Moved from Limestone Co, Al to Union Co, Il abt 1830 where he received a government land grant for his military service.
NOTE: The G was dropped from the surname when his father William moved to Columbia Co,Ga and became Hardin. Not sure of the reason.
