2. | Samuel Jr. Neat (1.Samuel1) was born in 1892 in Barton, Allegany County, Maryland; died on 28 Aug 1960 in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland. Notes:
Samuel Neat, 73, of 504 Ridgewood Avenue, died yesterday in Memorial Hospital where he was admitted Thursday. He was a retired foreman for the B&O Back Shop here, and had been a resident of Cumberland for 58 years. Mr. Neat was a native of Barton, a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Rees) Neat. He was a member of B & 0 Machinist Lodge 212, Grace Methodist Church, Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Junior Order of United American Mechanics. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna L. {Layman) Neat, and two sisters, Miss Mollie Neat and Mrs. Harriett Douglas, both of this city. The body is at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p. m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p. m. at the funeral home by Rev. Robert Nimon, pastor of Grace Church, and interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Aerie 245 will conduct ritualistic services tomorow at 8:30 p. m. at the funeral home. The Cumberland Evening Times, August 29, 1960
