Frostburg - Raymond Lewis Layman, 57, of Silver Spring, died Thursday. Born in Shaft, he was a son of the late George H. and Catherine (Long) Layman. Mr. Layman was a former employe of the Amcelle Plant of Celanese Fibers Company and was a member of the Northwood Presbyterian Church, Silver Spring, and Farrady Post #24, American Legion, Frostburg. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gwendolyn Layman; a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Ann Stine, Hagerstown; a son, John W. Layman, Shaft; three brothers, Charles L. Layman and Paul L. Layman, both of Baltimore; George L. Layman, Frostburg; four sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Minnich, New Castle, Del.; Mrs. James Dawson, Silver Spring; Mrs. Helen R. Drew, Frostburg, and Mrs. Ernest Densmore, Geneva, Ohio, and a grandchild. The body is at the Warner-Pumphrey Funeral Home, 8434 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring. Services will be conducted today at 10 a.m. in the Northwest Presbyterian Church, Silver Spring, and will be brought here to Sunset Memorial Park for interment about 1 p.m. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Heart Fund.
