Margaret Edith Miller, 85, of Grant Street, Grantsville, Md., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born July 11, 1908 at Avilton, she was a daughter of the late Richard Layman and Dessie (Miller) Layman. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Miller. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marilyn Miller; a granddaughter, Linda Blocher; and a son-in-law, William Blocher. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grantsville; a member of Grantsville Senior Citizens, and the Grantsville Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters: Patsy Blocher and Gloria Hitchins, both of Grantsville; for grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends were received at Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Thursday. Services were conducted there Friday with the Rev. Tim Allen officiating. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery. 6. | Linda Blocher (2.Patsy2, 1.Margaret1) was born about 1951 in Frostburg, Allegany County, Maryland; died on 25 May 1967 in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland. Notes:
Grantsville - Miss Linda Lee Blocher, 16, died Thursday at Sacred Heart Hospital after a lingering illness. She had been a patient there two days. Born in Frostburg, she was a daughter of William and Patsy (Miller) Blocher. A junior at Northern High School, she was a member of the Tri-Hi-Y and St. Stephen's Catholic Church and was a former member of the Northern High Band. Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, Ronald Blocher, and a sister, Patty Blocher, at home; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Miller, here, and her great-grandmother, Mrs. Anna Layman, a patient at the Goodwill Mennonite Home. The body is at the Newman Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited there tomorrow at 8 p.m. Requiem mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be in Grantsville Cemetery.
