Ware; a son, Charles R. Ware, Midlothian; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Soba, Michigan, and Mrs. Mae Croston, Frostburg; two brothers, William and James Layman, both of Detroit; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Raymond Davis. In failng health for several years, she had been seriously ill for the past three months. Mrs. Brunton was a daughter of James and the late Rose (Skidmore) Layman, Carlos. In addition to her sister and father, she leaves her husband and a daughter, Patsy Ann Brunton, Baltimore; four other sisters, Mrs. Marshall Croston, Hoffman; Mrs. William Winebrenner, Shaft; Mrs. Elsie James, Detroit; and Mrs. William Ware, Midlothian; and three brothers, James, Matthew, and Willard Layman, all of Detroit. The. body arrived here yesterday morning and was taken to the Ware residence, Midlothian, where services will he held tomorrow at 2:30 p. m. by Rev. H. B.     MCDONOUGH, Ga. — Rosemary Stanfield, 78, of McDonough, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. She was born in Carlos, to the late William Thomas and Vivian Layman Winebrenner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Barrington Stanfield Sr. and her brother, Ronald O. Winebrenner. She attended Beall High School and upon graduation, relocated to Washington D.C. where she enjoyed an enriching career and retired as Chief Deputy Clerk of the Tax Division in 1990 for the Superior Court of Washington. Rosemary was proud to have descended from Western Maryland’s first settlers, some of who immigrated from Germany. Genealogy became her passion and she was an ardent reader who loved traveling throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. After her husband’s death, Rosemary retired to McDonough. Rosemary was very interested in politics. She enjoyed volunteering at Piedmont Henry Hospital, attending church and bible study at Jodeco Road First United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, Ga., and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. Rosemary was a very kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart; always giving to others. Rosemary is survived by her children, Vicki Stanfield Hammond (Stephen), Seattle, Wash., Barry Stanfield (Vivian Wang), Aldie, Va., Adam Stanfield (Stephanie), Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Sean Stanfield, Kelsi Stanfield, Zack Stanfield, Matthew Hammond, Allison Stanfield, Tyler Penn; great-grandchild, Brady Penn; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014 at Jodeco First United Methodist Church, Stockbridge, Ga., with Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Interment will take place in Fairfax, Va., on Monday Feb. 17, 2014. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He served in the National Guard. He was a graduate of Beall High School and attended Frostburg State Teachers College. He worked at the Celanese for eighteen years and retired from Allegany Department of Social Services after 30 years of employment. He coached and participated in JCP Soccer, Little League Baseball, American Legion Baseball, Youth Basketball Leagues and Boy Scouts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking and the outdoors. Surviving are two sons, Jonathan Winebrenner and wife, Heather, Ft. Ashby, WVa., and Jeffrey Winebrenner, Virginia Beach, Va; one daughter Jessica Bridges, and husband Jason, Corbin, KY; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Rose Stanfield, McDonough, Ga.
