Lonaconing, Sept. 8 - Mrs. Elizabeth (Jackson) Munson, 58, wife of Joshua Munson, died yesterday at 3:15 p.m. at her home in Pekin, following an illness of three weeks. She was a daughter of the late George and Clara Jackson, and a native of Avilton, Md. For the past 54 years she had been a resident of Pekin and was a member of the Pentecostal Church, Lonaconing. Surviving besides her husband are the following children: Mrs. Clara Tomlinson, Wrights Crossing; Lester, Pekin; Melvin, Camp Meade; and Cevil, Virgil and Daisy, at home. One brother, Edward of Pekin, and two sisters, Mrs. William Harper, Knapp Meadow, Mrs. Francis Himmelwright, Cumberland, and six grandchildren also survive. FROSTBURG - Mrs. Clara C. Tomlinson, 58, wife of Cecil L. Tomlinson, Wrights Crossing, died yesterday in Miners Hospital where she was admitted Tuesday. She had been in failing health a year. Mrs. Tomlinson was born in Pekin, a daughter of the late Josiah and Elizabeth (Jackson) Munson. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three sons, Donald L. at home; William G., Lawrence, Mass.; Robert O., Fort Devens, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. John Johnson, Jr., Lonaconing; three brothers, Lester Munson, Pekin; Melvin Munson, Lonaconing, and Virgil Munson, Baltimore; a sister, Miss Daisy Munson, Baltimore, and six grandchildren. The body will be at the Durst Funeral Home today. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home by Rev. E. M. Goetschius. Burial will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. LONACONING — Lester Munson, 64, of Nikep, died yeterday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Nikep, he was a son of the late Joshua and Elizabeth (Jackson) Munson. A retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad pipefitter, he was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 339. Surviving are his widow, Bessie (Kiddy) Munson; two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Riley, Piedmont, and Miss Betty Munson, Nikep; a son, Lester R. Munson, Nikep; a brother, Virgil Munson, Baltimore; a sister, Miss Daisy Munson, Baltimore, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where friends will be received from 7 until 9 p.m. today and from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. tomorrow. NIKEP - Cecil E. Munson, 46; an employe of the B&O Bolt and Forge Shop in Cumberland, died yesterday in his home here. He is survived by his father, Joshua Munson, two sisters, Miss Daisy Munson, Nikep; and Mrs. Leroy Tomlinson, Frostburg; and three brothers, Lester Munson Nikep; Melvin Munson, Lonaconing; and Virgil Munson, Baltimore. The body is at the residence where services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Louis Emerick, pastor of the Midland Methodist Circuit. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow. Munson, 53, of here, was pronounced dead on arrival late Wednesday at Memorial Hospital where he was taken after suffering a heart attack while at work at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. Mr. Munson was a veteran of World War II. A native of Pekin, he was a son of the late Joshua and Elizabeth (Jackson) Munson. Survivors include his widow, Helen (Perkin) Munson; four daughters, Jenniver, .Mary E., Helen K .and Deborah Ann Munson, all at home; a son, David Munson, stationed with the Navy in Rhode Island; two brothers, Leslie Munson, Pekin, and Virgil Munson, Baltimore, and a sister, Miss Daisy Munson, Baltimore. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. by Rev. John O. HAMPTON, Va. - Carl David Munson, 70, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at Sentara Hospital, Hampton. Born March 13, 1947, in Nikep, Mr. Munson was the son of the late Melvin Carl Munson and Helen Berriman (Perkin) Munson. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jenniver Williams and Barbara Munson. Carl was a graduate of Valley High School, class of 1965. He retired from the United States Army as Sergeant, and was also a United States Naval Veteran. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family that was most important to him. He was a member of the Barton American Legion Post 189 where he was Past Commander and also held various positions. Carl is survived by his son, Gary Munson and wife, Jennifer; his daughters, Wendy Johnson and husband, Andy, Donna Todd and husband, Troy and Michelle Eutsler and husband, Scott; six grandsons; six granddaughters; and three great-grandsons. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Young and husband, Michael, Mary Wolfe, and Kay Donnelly and husband, Bob; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at noon with the Chaplain from the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard officiating.
