SOMERSET, Dec. 30 — Charles Baum, 71, of Berlin, died Monday in Somerset Community Hospital of injuries suffered November 18 when his car was wrecked along the Plank road, five miles from here. The Daily Courier, Connellsville, December 30, 1949

Charles A. Baum, 70, of Berlin, died Monday in Somerset Community hospital as a result of injuries received several weeks ago in an automobile accident on the Plank road. He was a son of the late William and Mary Everline Baum. His wife, Mrs. Lillie Miller Baum, survives and the following children: Mrs. C.W. MacDonald, Hilton Village, Va.; Mrs. John R. Hoffman, and Paul Baum of Akron, O.; Mrs. Thomas Rudy, of Pocahontas; Mrs. Warren S. Murray, Huntington, W.Va.; Rees Baum and Mrs. Glenn G. Hauger, Berlin; and six grandchildren. Funeral service, in charge of Johnson and Son, Berlin, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. R.C. Gerhardt officiating. Burial in the Berlin Odd Fellows cemetery. Margaret E. (Baum) Hoffman, 72, Uniontown, Ohio, formerly of Berlin, died suddenly May 29, 1979, at Cuyahoga Falls General Medical Center. She was born April 11, 1907, in Berlin, the daughter of Charles A. and Lily Baum. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in February 1978. She is survived by a daughter, Mary, at home; two sisters: Mrs. Iva Hauger, Brotherton, and Mrs. Janet Murray, Boca Raton, Fla.; and two brothers: Paul of Warfordsburg and Reese, Keyser, W.Va. She was a member of the Goodyear Heights DAR No. 295. Graveside services were conducted at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin, with the Rev. S. Boyd Dickey officiating. Republic, Meyersdale, June 7, 1979

Forrest Baum Hauger, 74, Somerset, formerly of Berlin, died June 6, 2014 at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor. Born August 1, 1939 in Berlin (Beachdale), son of Glenn and Iva (Baum) Hauger. Preceded in death by parents and a sister, Dora Alice Hauger. He was a 1957 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a 1966 graduate of Marshall University. He was a retired accountant. Social member of the American Legion in Somerset and F.O.E. 1801, Somerset. He enjoyed hunting. There will be no services at Forrest’s request. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
