HYNDMAN - William H. Emerick, 76, of RD 1, Hyndman, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. He had been in ill health for some time. Mr. Emerick was born at Comps, near Hyndman, a son of the late John and Elizabeth (Albright) Emerick. His wife, Lydia (Devore) Emerick, died in 1922. He was a member of the Reformed Church. He is survived by nine children: Raymond Emerick, Mt. Savage; Mrs. Edna Wilson, Flintstone; Miss Ethel Emerick, Somerset; Mrs. Nellie V. Nee, Cumberland; Howard F. Emerick, Windber; Mrs. Marie Murray, Ashtabula, Ohio; Mrs. Velma Dawson, RD 1, Buffalo Mills; Mrs. Effie Sturtz, Wellersburg; Mrs. Dorothy Shaffer, Hyndman; a brother, Jesse Emerick, RD 1, Hyndman, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Bloom, Corriganville; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Ziegler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Services Sunday; burial in Porter Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Betty DeVore, Cash Valley Road, Cumberland, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Edna E. Wilson, Cumberland, and Mrs. Nellie V. Buckley, Potomac Park, four half-sisters, Mrs. Marie Murray, Ashtabula, Oh., Mrs. Velma Dawson, Buffalo Mills, Mrs. Effie Sturtz, Wellersburg, and Mrs. Dorothy Shaffer, Hyndman; and one brother, Raymond H. Emerick, Boonsboro, Md. Friends were received at the George Funeral Home, Cumberland, where services were conducted with the Rev. Irvin G. Allen officiating.
