FROSTBURG — Carl William Helmick, 59, Slabtown, died Saturday at his home after an illness of five years. Born in Parsons, he was a son of the late Chester A. and Sara Jane (Blackburn) Helmick. He was a former employe of Celanese Fibers Company and a member of TWUA Local 1874 and Frostburg FOE. Surviving are his wife, Ellen (Winebrenner) Helmick, Baltimore; a son, Carl W. Helmick Jr., and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Cathcart, both Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. Richard Butler and two brothers, Robert and Herbert Helmick, all of Trenton, N. J., and four grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home. The Cumberland News, October 17, 1966
