Frostburg, Md., Apr. 14 - Miss Florence Shuckhart, aged 36 years, Borden, an invalid practically all her life, died yesterday morning following an illness of pneumonia. Besides her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Shuckhart, four sisters and one brother survive: Mrs. Allen Jenkins, Mrs. Thomas Shea, Mrs. Harvey Nelson, this place, and Miss Annie Shuckhart and Frank Shuckhart, at home. Miss Shuckhart was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. The funeral services will be conducted from the home Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. Daniel Ennis, pastor of the First M. E. Church, officiating.

Rev. J. C. Nicholson, pastor of the M. E. Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Allegany cemetery. Miss Shuckhart had been ill for 11 weeks and was taken to Allegany hospital, Wednesday, for treatment. She is survived by her father, John Shuckhart, Borden, Frank Shuckhart, brother,and Mrs. Harvey Nelson, Mrs. Allen Jenkins, Mrs. Thomas Shea and Miss Anna Shuckhart, sisters, all of this place. She was a member of the First M. E. church.

Margaret (Shea) Lewis, 85, formerly of 226 Fifth Street NW, passed away January 25 at Barberton Citizens Hospital after a lingering illness. Born in Borden Mines, Md., she lived the last 25 years in Barberton and prior to that, 60 years in Frostburg, Md. She was a former employee of the Kylus Tailoring for eight years and for the William Hiller Tailoring for 15 years and for the J. C. Penney Company for eight years as a tailor. She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church and the Women's Republican Club of Barberton. She is survived by son James Shea of Wadsworth; daughters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Kyle of Norton, and Mrs. Andrew (Evelyn) Maxim of Barberton; stepson, Allen Lewis of Frostburg, Md.; stepdaughters, Mrs. Joseph (Scelena) Brown of Cresaptown, Md., and Mrs. James (Bertha) Hott of Mt. Savage, Md.; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday from the Hahn Funeral Home, Inc., with Rev. Lester Flauhaus officiating. FROSTBURG — Eleanor Louise (Jenkins) Kenney, 93, of Frostburg Heights died on January 13, 2015, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 25, 1921 in Frostburg to Allen C. Jenkins and Mary Elizabeth (Shuckart) Jenkins. She was a 1939 graduate of Beall High. She was the Editor of the Beall High Chime and the Mountaineer Yearbook. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Homer “Stoney” Jackson, and J. Paul Kenney. Eleanor was the last surviving member of her family. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Dr. Ben Jenkins; and sisters, Martha Springston, Jane Jones, and Betty Morton. Eleanor was secretary to the General at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, and worked at the Murphys store in Frostburg. Eleanor was a kind, loving and intelligent person. She and her husband, Paul, cared for twenty foster children. She wanted to give these children a second chance in life. Her hobbies included reading. crossword puzzles, watching and feeding the birds, singing in her beautiful voice, playing the piano, violin, playing cards, taking bus trips, canning vegetables from Paul’s garden. She sewed clothing for her own family as well as baby doll clothing. Eleanor was a member of the Homemakers Club and the Frostburg United Methodist Church. Eleanor enjoyed visits from the pastors there and attended weekly Bible Study at the Frostburg Heights. Surviving are her daughter, Judy (Jackson) Stott and husband Wayne, Cumberland, and her son, Bill Jackson and wife Diana, Frostburg. Also, son, John Paul Kenney and wife Judy, Hagerstown; daughters, Beth Broome and husband the Rev. Rich, Martinsburg, W.Va., Susan Haslacker, Frostburg, and Mary Lou Weaver and husband Terry, Mountain Lake Park, and Coleen Kenney, considered as daughter and sister to the family, and her husband Dick, also a nephew. The couple provided loving care and support, especially in the last years. Eleanor had nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews who truly loved coming to Aunt Eleanor’s house. She will be greatly missed by many. Friends and relatives will be received at Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main Street, Frostburg on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015 from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by the funeral at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jen Webber officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. She was then employed by the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C., Margaret married Donald I. Kyle in 1942 in Washington. Active in several community activities, Margaret was past president of the Garden Dept. of Barberton Women's Club, member of Women's Tuesday Study Club of Barberton, volunteered for 25 years for the Red Cross Blood Bank, she served on the Board of Elections, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church serving as Sunday school teacher, multiple commissions and twice President of the Lakeview United Methodist Women. Margaret enjoyed family, cooking, traveling and Bridge. Preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas and Margaret (Shuckhart) Shea; brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Helen Shea, James and Viola Shea; and half brother, Donald Lewis; Margaret is survived by her husband of 71 years, Donald; son, Robert (Sonya) Kyle of Munroe Falls; daughter, Paula (Robert) Mack of Green; grandsons, Gregory and Geoffrey Mack; sister, Evelyn Maxim of Doylestown; along with other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Thursday, 10 a.m. at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 211 Third St., N.W., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Tina Nees officiating. Upon graduation, Mr. Morton enrolled in the Maryland State Police Academy, and he began his career in law enforcement, from which he retired at the rank of Sergeant after 25 years of service. Mr. Morton was a member of the Sons of the American Legion at the Jeff Davis Post 18 in Centreville. Fred made a friend of everyone he met. His quick wit and endless supply of humor made a person feel welcome immediately. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; his son and daughter in-law, Jason and Emily Morton; and best friend of 60 years, William Payne (Denise). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at the Jetty Dock Bar in Grasonville, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to Compass Regional Hospice 160 Coursevall Dr. Centreville MD 21617 or Hope Lodge 636 W Lexington St Baltimore MD 21201.
