He served in the Marine Corp, and was stationed in Japan. He is survived by a son, Kilgore Izzett III; a daughter, Pepper W. Milburn, Baltimore; three grandsons, Jason D., Nichals C., Erice B.     MOUNT SAVAGE — Clarence Edward “Ed” Izzett, 63, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Ed was born March 1, 1948, to the late Kilgore Izzett and Emma Pearl Folk. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gloria Fedder and two brothers, Gerald Izzett and Paul Izzett. Mr. Izzett was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 172 in Cumberland, where he served on the Honor Guard. Ed worked a variety of jobs and was a jack of all trades, having worked in construction and formerly at Sears as a small engine mechanic. Surviving are his children, NiCole Ritchey, of Andrews, S.C., Ryan Ritchey, of Mount Savage, Wendy Izzett Robbins, of Silver Spring, Edward Izzett, Cathy Izzett Sikora, and Sarah Izzett Sikora; grandchildren, Marleigh Stone, Tyler Stephens, Aysia Stephens, Cochise Stephens and Sheridan Caruso. Also surviving are a sister, Janet Thompson, of Frostburg and a brother, Kilgore Izzett Jr., of Baltimore. In accordance with his wishes, Ed was cremated. He was the husband of the late Elvie Mane Bowman Folk, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1946, and was preceded in death by on March 30, 2003. Born Feb. 8, 1915, in Mount Savage, he was the second of eight children born to Charles K. and Celia C. Rawlings Folk. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Upon honorable discharge from the Navy, Mr. Folk worked as a civil servant at Fort Detrick. He graduated in 1947 from the Harmony School of Piano Tuning, Harrisburg, Pa., after which he began his career as an accomplished piano technician. He owned and operated a piano tuning business in Frederick from 1947 to 2003. He tuned all the pianos in the Frederick County school system. He tuned his last three pianos in October of 2003. He was an active member of the Marantha Church of God, Frederick. He was the beloved father of Melvin E. Folk Jr. of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Lillie M. Folk Dove of Frederick. Other survivors are his daughter-in-law, Sara Bickley Folk, Lawrenceville, and his son-in-law, William L. Dove of Frederick; four grandchildren, Ryan A. Folk and wife Sara of Lawrenceville, Megan L. He was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church. Mr. Folk also participated in bowling leagues at work, was an avid pool player and loved hunting and fishing his life through. Born Sept. 19, 1918, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late James T. Rayner and Edna Mae (Folk) Rayner. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul, to whom she was married 66 years; a sister, Geraldine (Rayner) Lee and brothers Rev. Wilmer Rayner and Rev. Merrill Rayner. She is survived by four daughters, Marlene Lennox, Vikki Knieriem, Gayle Kastell and husband Henry and Paula Willison and husband Bob, all of Frostburg. Ina had ten grandchildren, Jason Lennox, Erick Lennox and wife Charlene, Troy Lennox and wife Deborah, Jaime McFarland, Justyn McFarland, Adrienne Kastell and husband JR, Henry Kastell II, Bobby Willison, Jeremy Willison and Carly Willison. She was great-grandmother to 11, Samantha, Meghan, Amanda, Bridgette, Erika, Rachael, Tyler, Dylan, Alexis, Barry, and Noah. She had one great-great-grandson, “Little Mason.” She loved her grandchildren each and everyone and delighted in their children as her “Great Children”. Also surviving is her dear sister-in-law, Ruby Rayner, of Frostburg. Ina worked at the Celanese Corp., but after marriage to her dearest Paul, she enjoyed her role as housewife and mother. She was extremely proud of “her girls,” as she called her daughters. Ina loved her husband, her family and her church, Frostburg Assembly of God, where she was a faithful member. As many are aware, the Rayner families were great cooks and Ina carried on that Rayner tradition. She was chief cook for many church events and as she aged, she saw to it the torch was passed to the next generation. Ina enjoyed eating pancakes, sampling chocolates and riding in the car. She loved family gatherings, birthdays, special occasions and any excuse to “dress up” in pink. She liked listening to the Gaither Gospel group and watching Wheel of Fortune. She was anticipating her 79th reunion from Central High School where she held the honor of being the youngest ever to graduate at age 15. Ina touched a lot of lives in her 94 years. She was a loving daughter, sister, devoted wife, mother and friend, who never lost her sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She was blessed with a gentle departure and we take great comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with husband Paul, whom she loved so dearly and missed so much. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Catherine Folk Carder and her husband, John Carder; sister Phyllis Ann folk Wallace and husband, W. Edward Wallace of Everett, Pa.; and brother, Ralph Edward Folk of Mount Savage. Bill retired from the Celanese Corporation where he had worked more than 40 years. He went to work at a very young age after his father was injured in a mining accident, allowing his younger siblings to finish their schooling. He was a loving son and caregiver to his parents all his life until their passing. He loved movies, music and old record players. Bill was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Mt. Savage. Bill is survived by a loving poodle dog, Baby Doll, his sister-in-law and caregiver, Lynda Forbes Folk, of Mount Savage; several nieces, Christie Marshall and husband, John, of Williamsburg, Va., Anita Van Unen, Katherine Keegan of Brunswick, Michaelena McDonald and husband, Andrew, of Edgewater; nephew, Alex Folk and wife, Elizabeth of Rockville; and 11 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special cousin and caregiver, Janet Thompson of Frostburg, and many other cousins. Funeral services and luncheon will be held at St. George's Episcopal Church, Mount Savage, on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at noon with Deacon Lydia Martin officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations, in Bill's name, by made to Western Maryland Hospice Service, 1050 W.     FROSTBURG — Mary Catherine Carder, 84, of Slabtown, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born July 17, 1928, in Slabtown, Mrs. Carder was the daughter of the late Roy Folk and Anna Bishields Folk. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Carder. Mrs. Carder worked all her life, employed first by the Undergarment Factory, then many years by the Celanese Corporation until her retirement. She was later employed by the cafeteria at Frostburg State University. She was a life-long member of St. Georges Episcopal Church in Mount Savage where as a young woman she taught Sunday School. Later in life she was a member of the Women of St. George’s and participated in many church activities, among them the monthly Potato Bars and yearly Holiday Bazaar and Dinner. She especially enjoyed her home and had been a loving companion and caregiver to her parents all her life until their passing. She is survived by two brothers, William Folk, of Slabtown and Ralph Folk and wife Lynda, of Mount Savage; a sister, Phyllis Wallace and husband Edward, of Everett, Pa.; several nieces, Christie Marshall and husband John, of Williamsburg, Va.; Anita Rought, of Germantown, Katherine Keegan and husband Michael, of Brunswick and Michalene McDonald and husband Andrew, of Edgewater; one nephew, Alex Folk and wife Elizabeth, of Rockville, and eleven great-nieces and nephews.
