Aden Elwood LAVIN was born about 1931 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. He died on 3 Nov 1963 in Fairfax, Fairfax Co., Virginia. A native of Mount Savage was killed instantly in an accident involving two cars and two trucks yesterday in Fairfax, Va. The victim was identified by Fairfax police as Aden Elwood Lavin, 32, of 2141 North Military Road, Arlington, Va. Police said he was driving on Route 29.211 when he collided with a van owned by the Washington Evening Star and driven by Raymond Hall, 34. Hall's truck collided with a tractor trailer he was passing when the initial crash occurred, and a fourth vehicle, driven by Roger W. Mullens, 21, of Fairfax, collided with the van. There were no other serious injuries in the crash which occurred a quarter mile west of Route 50, police said. Mr. Lavin, an employe of an Arlington furnace and heating company, was born in Mt. Savage. He was a son of Mrs. Fannie Chisholm Lavin, Mt. Savage, and the late Aden Joseph Lavin, who died in 1960. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Besides his mother he is survived by four brothers, Francis J. Lavin, Arlington; Wilbert G., Irvin P., and David B. Lavin, Mt. Savage; two sisters, Mrs. Betty L. O'Neal, Mt. Savage; and Mrs. Peggy Beal, Washington, Pa. Silcox Funeral Residence. A service will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. William Harpold, pastor of Mt. Suit for $50,000 damages was filed in Circuit Court this morning for Aden Lavin, Jr., by his father Aden Lavin, Sr., Mt. Savage, against Carl R. Roberts, of Briar Hill, Pa., as a result of alleged severe and permanent injuries suffered by the Lavin youth when he was struck by Roberts' car. Lavin, who is I5, was in a small wagon at the time he was hit by Roberts' car, according to attorneys for the plaintiff. The mishap occurred September 11 about 2:30 p. m. at the intersection of Main Street and New Row in Mt. Savage. The declaration states that Lavin suffered a compound fracture of the right leg, severe lacerations of the right thigh, severe loss of blood and shock, and avers that his injuries are permanent. The youth was also hospitalized a long time and incurred heavy medical expense, according to his attorneys, William C. Walsh and Thomas B. Finan. The Cumberland Evening Times, November 5, 1948

MOUNT Savage — Irvin P. Lavin, 72, of Mount Savage, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 2, 1940 in Mount Savage, to Aden J. Lavin and Fannie Chisholm. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty O’Neal; two brothers, Aden “Sonny” Lavin and Jerry Francis Lavin; and a special nephew, Jeffrey David Lavin. Mr. Lavin was retired from Kelly Springfield as Manager of Food Services and as a driver for Queen City Electric. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserves; and a member of Mount Savage Volunteer Fire Company for 17 years. Irvin in his younger days enjoyed riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, and enjoyed spending time with family. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Sandra (Clark) Lavin; daughter, Cindy McDonald and husband Robert, LaVale; son, Randy Lavin, Ellerslie and Jason Robison, Mount Savage, whom he thought of as his son; two granddaughters, Kristi Lavin and Amanda McDonald; one grandson, Brandon Lavin; a brother-in-law, Dale Clark, Mount Savage; three siblings, Wilbert “Snoots” Lavin and wife Audrey, Mount Savage, Peggy Beal and husband Donald, Frostburg, Barry Lavin and wife Josie, LaVale; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vicky was a graduate of Mount Savage High School, class of 1977, and was a former employee of Bernard Doors, Emerick's Meats, and Burger King, Frostburg. She was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church and the Old Rail Post 6025 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Vicky enjoyed cooking, gardening, going camping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved her furbabies. Vicky is survived by her husband of 23 years, Doug Lease; her sons, Jonathan M. Bridges and Seth Bridges; four grandchildren, Savannah, Tuxon, Colton, and Stephen Bridges; the daughter she never had, Krista Spiker; her special friends, Joni Williams Parham and, Joanie King McCoy; and her in-laws, Wayne and Patty Fleegle. CUMBERLAND — Jeffrey David Lavin, 46, of Cumberland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. Born July 30, 1963 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Shirley Anne (Durst) Lavin. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen G. and Mary Durst, and Aden and Fannie Lavin. He was a graduate of Mt. Savage High School. Mr. Lavin was self-employed as a carpenter. Jeff was a caring, giving, compassionate friend who was loved by all. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his two sisters, Jeanne Ansel and husband Robert of King George, Va. and Tammy Lavin of Frostburg; one niece, Emily Chandler, Frostburg; and one nephew, John Ansel and wife Jodie, Springfield, W.Va. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Valeria and Dr. Jack Arch, Carol L. Kyle, Glenn Allen and Linda Durst, Irvin and Sandy Lavin, Peg and Don Beal, Barry and Josie Lavin and Wilbert and Audrey Lavin; and numerous cousins.
