    Mrs. Blanche N. Pryor, 84, formerly of Jane Frazier Village, died yesterday at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland, where she had been a patient three years. A native of Somerset County, Pa., Mrs. Pryor was a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Dorsey, She was twice married and both her husbands, Reed Deneen and Lewis A. Pryor, preceded her in death. Mrs. Pryor was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Ruth McKenzie, LaVale; Mrs. Dorothy M. Paoli, Uniontown, Pa., and Mrs. Arzie J. Perdew, Canton, Ohio; a son Fred Deneen, city; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Catherine Roblyer, Cresaptown; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie L. Henry officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, June 11, 1976.

    FROSTBURG - Nellie Ruth Deneen McKenzie of St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Center, formerly of Frostburg Heights Apartments and LaVale, passed from this life to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 28, 2003. Born in Cumberland, she was the loving daughter of the late Reed Deneen and Blanche N. (Dorsey) Deneen Pryor. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel A. McKenzie, and her second husband, Edward O. Beasley; her brother, Fred Deneen; nephews Scott Deneen and Steve Perdew; and her grandson, John William Cave. Mrs. McKenzie was formerly employed as secretery/bookkeeper with the Scott's Beauty Academy, Cumberland, the Frostburg Dodge Garage, Footer's Cleaners, LaVale, Mr. Jack's Appliances, LaVale, and she was the owner of Nell's Varieties, LaVale. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church and former member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality, all of Cumberland. Nellie was a loving and devoted mother to her five children, William G. McKenzie and wife Gini, Harmans, Alice B. Dombrowsky and husband Phil, Martinsburg, W.Va., John Fred McKenzie and wife Chong, Fayetteville, N.C., Judy E. Brown and husband Sonny, Cumberland, and Janet M. Durst and husband Bruce, Frostburg. She was also a loving and caring grandmother to Donna Cobean, Dottie Pownall, Kimberly Antill, John McKenzie, Laurie Brown, Kristin Martin, Lisa Gilpin and Shari Durst; and five great-grandchildren she dearly treasured, Kayla, Alicia, and Anna Pownall, and Mathew and Tim Antill. Nellie's greatest joy in life was her family. She was a riend to all due to her winning personality, beautiful smile and enduring good nature. She always had the ability to look on the bright side of every situation in her life because of her deep religious roots, her love of life, and her enthusiasm for living it. She will be greatly missed by all. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted by Rev. Fr. William Moody at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Friends can also go online at durstfuneralhome.com to find directions to the funeral home and instructions to email condolences. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cumberland, on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Milton Hipsley as celebrant.     CUMBERLAND — Judith Elaine “Judy” Brown, 69, of Cumberland, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 8, 1946, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel McKenzie and Nellie Ruth (Deneen) McKenzie. Judy was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1964. She had worked as an operator for C & P Telephone Company. Judy attended Our Lady of the Mountains Parish-St. Patrick’s and St. Mary’s Catholic Churches. She is survived by her devoted husband of 46 years, Floyd Brown; her loving daughter, Laurie M. Brown; two brothers, William G. McKenzie, Harman, and John F. McKenzie, Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Alice Dombrowsky, Martinsburg, W.Va., and Janet Durst, Frostburg; several nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Marc Yonker; and, an adopted grandchild, Morgan Yonker.

    Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene Street, Cumberland, on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at 1 p.m., in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
