Rae Ellsworth Keister, 80, of Frostburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, at Allegany Healthcare and Rehab Center, Cumberland. Born April 3, 1940, in Midlothian, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Keister. He was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Keister; brothers, Harry and Robert Keister; sisters, Mary Morgan, Doris Morgan and Janice Vought. Mr. Keister was a mechanic and of the Catholic faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Grantsville Post 214, American Legion and Midland Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his wife, Ora Mae (McKenzie) Keister; three sons, Ronald (Gail) Keister Jr., Frostburg, John (companion, Wendy Sipple) Keister, Meyersdale, Pa., Charles Keister, Frostburg; two brothers, James (Gloria) Keister and Neil (Nancy) Keister, all of Carlos; one sister, Elaine (Bob) Resh, Warren, Ohio; five grandchildren, Thomas and wife, Heidi, Michael and wife, Jamie, Ronald Jr. and wife, Danielle, Emily and companion, Anthony Testa; Nicole and fiancé, Richard Whetzel; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. FROSTBURG - Steven Michael Keister, 24, of RD 2, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 1991 following an automobile accident five miles east of Grantsville on Alternate Route 40. Born Aug. 13,1967, he was the son of Rae E. and Ora M. (McKenzie) Keister. Mr. Keister was employed by McKenzie Brothers Logging, Frostburg, and was a recognized member of the Maryland Forestry Association. He was a graduate of Northern High School, Accident, and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Besides his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Ronald Keister Sr., John Keister, and Charles Keister, all of Frostburg; his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth (Hamilton) Keister, Frostburg Village; his maternal grandfather, Thomas McKenzie, a patient at Lions Manor, Cumberland; one niece; and three nephews. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A Christian wake service will be held there Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church by Monsignor John L.
