McKenzie and four daughters, Mrs. John Seaders, Mapleside, Mrs. Edward Grabenstein, Winchester Bridge, and Mrs. James S. Leasure and Mrs. Reitmeier, this city. Samuel Adkins, Cleveland, O., is her brother, and Mrs. Virginia Morris, Frostburg, her sister.

    Enoch Ambrose MCKENZIE and Mary Jane ADKINS were married on 26 Apr 1863. Mary Jane ADKINS (daughter of Henry ADKINS and Rebecca S. MCKENZIE) was born on 14 Jan 1844.     Frostburg, Jan. 2 - Mrs. Virginia Morris, 86, widow of George Morris, died at 8:40 tonight at her home, 86 Water street. She had been ill with pneumonia since Tuesday. Mrs. Morris was a native of New Hampshire county, Va., and came here 68 years ago, following her marriage. Her husband died in 1901. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.     FROSTBURG - Mrs. Effie Kerr, 76, of 80 Mt. Pleasant Street, died this morning in Miners Hospital where she had been a patient a week. She had been in failing health for sometime. The wife of Thomas Kerr and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Adkins, she was a member of Welsh Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving, besides her husband, are five sons, Charles, William, Jack and Walter, all of Frostburg, and Glen, Cumberland; daughter, Mrs. Viola Alexander, Lonaconing, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Interment will be made beside her husband in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary McKenzie, LaVale; one brother, J.A. McKenzie of Cumberland, and the following sisters: Mrs. John Sedars, Mrs. Joseph Reitmier, Mrs. James Leasure, and Mrs. Edward Grabenstein. She is also survived by three children, Michael Kalal and Misses Mary and Josephine Kalal, living with their aunt, Mrs. Sedars. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ralph Seaders, at home, and Charles Seaders, this city; two daughters, Miss Rosalie Seaders and Mrs. George Loar, both at home; a brother, Joseph A. McKenzie, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Reitmeier, aIso of this city, and three grandchildren. The body is at the home.     Obit: Joseph A. McKenzie, 82, died yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ida Reitmeier, 208 Columbia Street. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Enoch and Mary (Adkins) McKenzie. His wife, Cecelia (Whitacre) McKenzie, preceded him in death. Mr. McKenzie was a retired B&O Railroad brakeman, a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Men of LaVale, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Besides his sister, he is survived by a son, William P. McKenzie, Potomac Park; two daughters, Mrs. Regina Young and Mrs. Adeline Barham, city; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Stein Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p. m. Requiem mass will be celebrated Friday at 9 a. m. at St Patrick's Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home tomorrow at 8:45 p. m.     A 46-year-old Frostburg carpenter was killed yesterday morning when a concrete abutment on the Vocke Road bridge fell on him. Three olher workmen narrowly escaped being pinned under the abutment. Dead is Walter T. Kerr of 422 Park Street, Frostburg, who was employed as a carpenter for the Hout Construction Company. He and three other men were workng on wooden forms for a new concrete abutment which was to be laid against the old section when the latter suddenly fell over. The victim was unable to avoid the falling slab, and was pinned from his midsection down. The slab was 15 feet long, four feet high and about a foot and a half to two feet thick. . . . A native of Frostburg, Mr. Kerr is a son of Thomas Kerr of Frostburg and the late Mrs. Effie (Adkins) Kerr. He is survived by his father, his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Race) Kerr, and two daughters, Brenda and Tamra, both at home. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg, and was an avid grower of roses. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Hazel (Wingert) Kerr; three sons, Jon Thomas Kerr and wife Jacqueline, Frostburg, Glen Joseph Kerr and wife Penny, San Jose, Calif., and Richard Douglas Kerr and wife Jill, Frostburg; four grandchildren, Scott, Brandon, Aaron and Samuel Kerr; one step-grandson, David Troutman; two great-grandchildren, J.R. and Kaitlin Kerr; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Church Sodality.     obit: Raymond Voil McKenzie, 47, of 516 Woodlawn Terrace, died this morning at Sacred Heart Hospital where he was admitted yesterday after suffering a heart attack. Born May 17, 1907, in Cumberland, he was a son of Joseph A. McKenzie and the late Cecelia (Whitaker) McKenzie. Employed as a salesman by Brown Brothers, Inc., Mr. McKenzie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the parish. He served in the armed forces during World War II. In addition to his father and widow, Mrs. Martha (Larkin) McKenzie, he is survived by two brothers, William P. McKenzie, Toledo, O., and Leonard A. McKenzie, city; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry Young and Mrs. Charles Barham, also of Cumberland. The body will be at the residence tomorrow morning. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 1, 1954.
