    Notes:

    John William McKenzie, 58, of 22 B Street, LaVale, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been a patient since January 19. He was a son of the late Milnor J. and Frances (Maloney) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was employed as a painter for the Celanese Corporation. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society of the church. He is survived by his widow, Mary Teresa (Nies) McKenzie; two sons, Milnor C. McKenzie, LaVale, and William T. McKenzie, Cresaptown; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence W. Gorsuch, LaVale, and Mrs. Robert L. Langley, Solomons, Md.; three brothers, Robert McKenzie, Cresaptown; Frank McKenzie, Cleveland; Daniel McKenzie, Park Heights; two sisters, Mrs. Vincent Miltenberger and Mrs. Frances H. Koontz, both of LaVale, and eight grandchildren. A requiem mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church by Rev. Kenan R. Crowley, OFM Cap, assistant pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Pallbearers, all co-workers at the Amcelle Plant, will be Leslie M. Wigfield, Lloyd R. Brooks, Edward R. Walker, Morgan S. Hinds, Clyde Harden, and Gladson W. Allamong. The body will be at the residence after 6:30 p.m. today where the Holy Name Society will recite the rosary Sunday at 8 p.m.

    MILNOR "BUD" C. MCKENZIE LAVALE — Milnor “Bud” Charles McKenzie, 95, of LaVale, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born May 26, 1920, in Cumberland, Mr. McKenzie was the son of the late John W. McKenzie and Mary T. McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary Catherine (Mower) McKenzie, Jan. 24, 2015; a granddaughter, Melanie Kay McKenzie; a brother, William T. McKenzie; and a sister, Shirley Langley. Bud was a United States Army Veteran during World War II and a member of the Maryland National Guard 29th Infantry Division having served with the 115th Infantry Cannon Company at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He retired from Tri-State Paper Company. Bud was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a former member of the Cumberland Elks Club; the LaVale Lions Club; and the Forty & Eight. He was an avid bowler in the County Bowling League and Armchair Bowling League with his wife. Bud is survived by his daughters, Deborah J. McKenzie, Cumberland, and Kathy A. Jacobs and husband, Bruce, Wiley Ford, W.Va.; and his sons, C. Douglas McKenzie and wife, Peg, Frostburg, and Joseph “Buddy” M. McKenzie and wife, Lu Ann, Cumberland. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Gorsuch, LaVale; and his grandchildren, Jessica McKenzie, Smithsburg, Jenny Lennon, Geneva, Ill., Angela McKenzie, Frederick, Joseph McKenziem, Heather L. Adams, Laura Yost and husband, Bill, Michelle Lambert, all of Cumberland, Travis Jacobs and wife, Shay, Short Gap, W.Va., and Devin Jacobs, Wiley Ford; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P. A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at 10 a.m. with the Reverend George Harpold officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post 13 Veterans Honor Guard.

    HAGERSTOWN — William Taylor McKenzie, 82, of 45 Redwood Drive, Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. Born Saturday, April 7, 1923, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late John McKenzie and the late Mary Nies McKenzie. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army with Company C 96th Chemical Battalion, he worked in Cumberland, at Celanese Fiber and Allegheny Ballistics Laboratory before moving to Hagerstown in 1966 where he was employed with the State Road Administration in Hagerstown until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Dixon Troxell Post 211 American Legion Funkstown. He is survived by his wife, Cleora J. McKenzie, whom he married on Aug. 6, 1943; daughter, Sharon Gall and husband Donald of Hagerstown; son, Raymond McKenzie and wife Sylvia of Williamsport; three grandsons, Keith Gall and great-grandson, Jarred of Oklahoma City, Okla., David Gall and wife Tracy and great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brandie of Hagerstown, and Brian McKenzie of Williamsport; brother, Milnor McKenzie and wife Mary Catherine of LaVale; two sisters, Helen Gorsuch and husband Clarence of LaVale, and Shirley Langley of Solomons, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. from the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 224 West Washington St., Hagerstown, with the Father George Limmer as celebrant. Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Boulevard, North Hagerstown, from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 3. She was born on Jan. 1, 1931, in Cumberland, to the late John William McKenzie and Mary Teresa Nies. She was the beloved wife to the late Robert Lee Langley, whom she married on Feb. 12, 1949, in Cumberland. Shirley moved to Calvert County from Cumberland in 1949. She was a charter member of the Solomons V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, William T. McKenzie. Shirley is survived by her children, John L. Langley and wife Stephanie of Warrenton, Va., Bobbie L. Herring and husband Edward of Leonardtown, and Kenneth R. Langley Sr. of Solomons; siblings, Milnor C. McKenzie and Helen Gorsuch, both of Cumberland; grandchildren, Kristie L. McCalla and husband Ray, Susan Langley, Breann L. Brown and husband David, Jessica Davidson and husband Gregory, Erin Langley and Kenneth R. Langley Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jadon Patrick Preston and McKenzie Ann Brown. Pallbearers will be Joseph McKenzie, Michael Gorsuch, Doug McKenzie, Marty Sealey, Jay Lankford and Wayne Duley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray McCalla and David Brown. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., Lusby, where a prayer service will be offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Solomons, with Father Richard Gardiner officiating.
