Born Oct. 17, 1927, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late George Frank McKenzie and Mildred Agnes (Cunningham) McKenzie. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Carl Elliott Growden; sons, John Frederick Growden and Thomas Michael Growden; brother, James McKenzie; and sister, Dorothy M. Her kitchen was the hub of her home and the family meeting place where many memories were made and the very best meals were shared. In her kitchen, Aunt Jobie did all her favorite things: canning, cooking, baking, talking and laughing on the phone, making candy, playing cards and games, painting, reading, and completing crosswords and the cryptograms (celebrity cipher) in the daily newspaper. If she wasn't in the kitchen, she was out taking care of others, doing God's work, or enjoying nature. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, or just being in her yard chatting with neighbors. She is survived by sisters, Virginia L. Crews, Ohio, Rita F. Markley, Cumberland, and Sue A. Atkins and husband, Bob, Ohio; two brothers, George E. McKenzie and wife, Shirley, Buena Park, Calif., and Joseph J. McKenzie and wife, Betty, Ohio; two grandchildren and their spouses, who were the light in her eyes, Stephanie (Growden) Lewis and husband, Trevor, Oakland, and Matthew Growden and wife Gwen, of Cumberland; two great-grandsons who brought her joy beyond measure, Camden Thomas Lewis and Greyson Elliott Growden; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and others who loved and adored her too numerous to mention.
