Clifford W. Winebrenner, 68, Rochester, N.Y., died June 12 at his residence. Born in Lonaconing, he was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Fannie Winebrenner; one son, Clifford Dale Winebrenner, and a daughter, Mrs. Ramona J. Shockey, both of Cumberland; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday in Rochester, with interment in Riverside Cemetery there. Cumberland, MD - Clifford "Dale" Winebrenner, 66, of Cumberland, MD, departed this life on Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home. Born May 6, 1937, Allegany County, MD, he was the son of the late Clifford Winebrenner, formerly of New York, and Lula Thomas (Jenkins) James, formerly of Cumberland, MD. He was also preceded in death by a stepfather, Charles T. James. "Dale" spent the last remaining years of his life fighting a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Prior to his illness, "Dale" was active, enjoyed life tremendously, and loved the time he would spend with his family. He was especially fond of the memories of his nieces and nephews who were an important part of his life. "Dale" had a great love for all animals, loved to travel, and enjoyed fishing as a hobby. Surviving are his brother, Charles "Jerry" James and his special friend, Nancy Wigfield, Cumberland, MD; his sisters, June Cooper, Burlington, WV; Jody Ross and her husband, Richard, Cumberland, MD; Ramona Shockey, Cumberland, MD; several nieces and nephews, including SSG Chadwick Lance Cooper, Fort Benning, GA (currently serving in Afghanistan); Alicia Dagmar Coope of South Carolina; Jazmine L. Ross, Bel Air, Cumberland, MD; Robert Hosselrode and his wife, Sue, and their daughter, Ashley; Cumberland, MD; Holly Hosselrode; Teresa Shook and her husband, Dwayne, and their children, Tiffany, Dwayne, Jr., Brittany; and Stephanie Ordnorff, all of Cumberland, MD. Friends were received at Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Sunday, March 30, 2003, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. A memorial service was conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Thomas Landaker officiating.
