He died on 1 Dec 2000 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. Saturday, December 02, 2000 - Cumberland Times-News - FROSTBURG Clarence H. "Bud" Caton, 79, of 87 Davidson St., Frostburg, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Dec. 10, 1920, in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Simon and Minnie (McKenzie) Caton. He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Clarence Caton; two brothers, Herbert Caton and Carl Caton; and one sister, Mary McKenzie. Mr. Caton was retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass. He was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army having served in China, Burma and India. He was a member of American Legion Farrady Post 24. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Helen (Hoyman) Caton; one daughter, Vicki (Caton) Willison, at home; three brothers, Anthony Caton and wife Shirley, Junction City, Ohio, Lawrence Caton, Lancaster, Ohio, and Stanley Caton and wife Virginia, Oldtown; four sisters, Leona Kitis and husband Fritz, Finzel, Irene Ramhoff and husband "Duke," Frostburg, Isabell Minnick and husband Robert, Frostburg, and Mae McKenzie and husband Richard, Finzel; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Darryl L. Gill officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Long Stretch. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Farrady Unit 24. He was buried on 4 Dec 2000 in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland.
