    Frostburg - Mrs. Agnes Garlitz, aged 44 years, wife of Mr. Enoch A. Garlitz, died Wednesday at 6 p. m., at the Allegany Hospital, Cumberland, after an illness that was lingering in its nature but did not assume a serious form until Thursday of last week. Her body was brought to this city Wednesday evening. Mrs. Garlitz, together with her husband, came to this place many years ago from Avilton, Garrett county, Md., and for the past several years have resided on Green street. The deceased is survived by her husband and the following children: Agnes, Teresa, Margaret and Adaline, Messrs Cecil, Paul, James Neil and John, all of this place and Joseph R. Garlitz, of Philadelphia. The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock Saturday morning from St. Michael's Catholic Church. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. Mr. Garlitz, the husband of the deceased, has for many years been employed by the H. B. Shaffer Company, of this city. Cecil Garlitz, 49, of 50 North Mechanic street, was found dead in bed this morning when called to go to work at McKenzie's Tavern, North Mechanic street, where he had been employed as a bartender. Garlitz was a veteran of the First World War and had been ill several days prior to his death this morning about 9 a. m. Dr. Linne H. Corson, deputy county medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes. He was a son of the late Enoch A. and Agnes (McKenzie) Garlitz, a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, this city, and of Henry Hart Post. No. 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was unmarried. He is survived by four brothers: Paul H., Mt. Savage; Joseph R., this city, Cornelius C., Detroit, Mich.; and John P. Garlitz, Avilton, who returned yesterday from the South Pacific after four years' service with the Fifth Army Air Force. Three sisters also, survive: Mrs. Eloy Barba, Mrs. L. P. Monahan, and Mrs. Roy Wentling, all of Detroit. The Cumberland Evening Times, October 15, 1945

    FROSTBURG - Paul H. Garlitz, 87, of the Frostburg Heights Apartments, died Friday at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born here, he was a son of the late Enoch Garlitz and Agnes (McKenzie) Garlitz. Mr. Garlitz was a retired employee of the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory near Pinto. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Pope John Council 5450, Knights of Columbus, Cresaptown - LaVale. Surviving are his widow, the former Mary Noonan; two daughters, Mrs. Lou Ann Reinholz, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Judith Williams, Wilmington, Del.; two brothers, Joseph R. Garlitz, Cumberland; John Garlitz, San Francisco, Calif.; one half-brother, Leonard Garlitz, Frostburg Heights Apartments; one sister, Mrs. Adeline Wetling, Troy, Mich.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday at the Durst Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church by Msgr. John L. Reinsfelder. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Mount Savage. A Christian wake service will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Cumberland News, August 17, 1985
