Funeral services for John Joseph Rodda, 75, well-known retired Frostburg business man and former city councilman who died yesterday, will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p. m. from the residence at 163 Maple street. The Rev. Watson Holly, pastor of First Methodist Church, will have charge of the service. Burial will be in the family lot in Allegany Cemetery, A special service will be held tonight at 9 o'clock at the home by the members of Junior Council No. 11, JOUAM, of which Mr. Rodda was a member. Mr. Rodda, a life resident of Frostburg and prominent in civic affairs, died early yesterday morning at his home of a heart attack. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Daisy (Nelson) Rodda; three children by a former marriage, J. Leslie Rodda, of Lucerne Valley, Calif.; Miss Nellie M. Rodda, of Baltimore, and Mrs. Margaret R, Minick, of Frostburg; a brother, Mathias Henry Rodda, of Philadelphia; two sisters, Mis. R. Olin Layman and Mrs. Christopher Roberts, both of Frostburg, and six grandchildren. His first wife was the late Elizabeth (Garrett) Rodda. The Cumberland Sunday Times, October 6, 1946
