James Nelson, 68, of 222 Charles Street, died Friday at Sacred Heart Hospital, where he was admitted December 19. Born in Eckhart, he was a son of the late John A. and Rosa (Crowe) Nelson. He was a retired employe of the Kelly Springfield Tire Company and was a member of the Jr.OUAM, AF & AM of Mt. Savage, and the Centre Street Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John V. Reed, Mammoth, Arizona; five brothers, Raymond and Herbert Nelson, Barberton, O.; John Nelson, Philadelphia; Andrew Nelson, Frostburg; and Olin Nelson, Eckhart; five sisters, Mrs. Russell Diehl and Mrs. Charles Krauss, both of Frostburg; Mrs. William Engle, Eckhart; Mrs. Lester Folk, Barberton, O.; and Mrs. Sidney Ward, Gulfport, Fla. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, where services will be conducted tomorrow at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Louis L. Emerick. Interment will be in St. George Episcopal Cemetery, Mt. Savage. Father Lawrence C. Butler of St. George Episcopal Church will officiate at the committal service. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Pallbearers will be Donald Filsinger, William Engle, Harry Fuller, Francis Drake, William Dickie and Harold Mills.
