    MOUNT SAVAGE — Elnora Winebrenner, 77, of Slabtown, Mount Savage, died Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at Memorial Hospital. Born May 7, 1918, in Mount Savage, she was a daughter of the late William Morrison Winebrenner and Susan (Hutzel) Winebrenner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Darb” Winebrenner; several brothers and sisters; and one great-grandson. Mrs. Winebrenner was a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Savage United Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons, Bernard Winebrenner and wife Sharon, Mount Savage, David Winebrenner and wife Nancy, Eckhart, Roger Winebrenner and wife Linda, LaVale, and Clarence Winebrenner, Laurel; five daughters, Arvada Winebrenner, Mount Savage, Kathleen Comer and husband Leroy Sr., Frostburg, Wanda Whitehead and husband James, Midlothian, Mary Margaret “Peggy” Ryan and husband Raymond Jr., Ridgeley, W.Va., and Patricia Winebrenner, Hagerstown; two brothers, Ralph “Jake” Winebrenner, Slabtown, and Clinton “Doc” Winebrenner, Hyndman, Pa.; one sister, Viola Deal, Frostburg; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Richard C. Broome Jr. Interment will be in the Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale.

Born April 29, 1937, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late William "Darb" Winebrenner and Elnora Winebrenner. She also was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Paul Biggs. Mrs. Winebrenner was a former employee at Arby's Restaurant and formerly worked at Uncle Lou's Tastee Freeze for 20 years. Mrs. Winebrenner was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church. She was an avid Republican and served on the Republican Central Committee. Surviving are one daughter, Charlotte Jean Biggs, Piedmont, W.Va.; one granddaughter, Hannah Marie Biggs; four brothers, Bernard Winebrenner, Mount Savage, David Winebrenner, Eckhart, Roger Winebrenner, LaVale, and Clarence Winebrenner,
    Sykesville; four sisters, Kathleen Gomer, Frostburg, Wanda Whitehead, Midlothian, Mary Margaret "Peggy" Ryan, Ridgeley, W.Va., and Patricia Winebrenner, Hagerstown; and two special friends, Beverly Nicely and Jamie Doonis. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard C. Broome Jr. officiating.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Arvada Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner worked at Mount Savage Firebrick for 40 years, and he was a member of the Mount Savage United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Sharon Lynn (Blank) Winebrenner; one son, Bernard James Winebrenner, Mt. Savage; one daughter, Jody Lynn Bucy and husband John, Mt. Savage; two grandchildren, Sara and Josh Bucy, Mt. Savage; four sisters, Kathleen Gomer and husband Leroy, Frostburg, Wanda Whitehead, Midlothian, Mary Ryan and husband Raymond, LaVale and Patricia Winebrenner, Hagerstown; three brothers, David Winebrenner and wife Nancy, Eckhart, Roger Winebrenner and wife Linda, LaVale and Clarence Winebrenner, Sykesville; two brothers-in-law, James Austin Blank Jr. and friend Cindy Stys, Columbia, and Richard W. Blank and wife Donna, Mt. Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born Sept. 2, 1945, in Mount Savage, to William Joseph “Darb” Winebrenner and Eleanor (Winebrenner) Winebrenner. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Arvada Winebrenner and two brothers, Bernard Joseph Winebrenner and Roger Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and retired from Mount Savage Refractories as a Press Operator. He is a lifetime member of Piney Mountain Sports Association. “Dad enjoyed hunting, spending time with his brother and sisters and making family memories. He was a great husband to my mom for 43 years. I know he is in heaven now and he is one of their special angels, as he was here on earth. Thanks Dad for being good to me,” David W. Winebrenner. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Nancy (Martin) Winebrenner; son, David W. Winebrenner and wife Dena L., of Frostburg; two grandchildren, Joseph A. Born July 28, 1947, in Cumberland, Mr. Winebrenner was the son of the late William Joseph Winebrenner and Elnora (Winebrenner) Winebrenner. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Winebrenner; and a sister. Arvada Winebrenner. Roger was a well driller for 29 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Roger was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be sadly missed by many who knew and loved him. Roger loved and thought the world of his son, daughter, and granddaughters. Roger is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda (Britt) Winebrenner; his son, Roger L. Winebrenner Jr. and wife, Renee and his daughter, Krista (Winebrenner) Kennell and husband, James, all of LaVale.
