TACOMA, Wash. - Faye McKenzie, 79, passed away on Feb. 9, 2001, at her home in Tacoma after a four-week battle with cancer.
She had lived 10 years in Tacoma, where she was a member of St. Luke's Memorial Episcopal Church and the Daughters of the King.
Faye developed her talent for oil painting of roses and landscapes, and she also maintained a beautiful rose and herb garden.
She was married to Duane McKenzie from 1943 until his death in 1988. She is survived by her special friend, Neil Grams, and her sister, Barb Eddington; her children, Michelle (Doug) Brown, James (Cathy) McKenzie, Paula (TJ) Nelson, Leslie (Timothy) Richards and Jeff (Susie) McKenzie; as well as eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Another son, Jon McKenzie, preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held on Feb. 12, at St. Luke's Memorial Episcopal Church in Tacoma, Wash., and also in Hebron, Neb., where she will be buried. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Norma married Duane Francis McKenzie on 3 Apr 1943 in Santa Ynez, California. Duane (son of Ferdinand William McKenzie and Agnes Ellen Lochart) was born on 6 Nov 1920 in Cambridge, Nebraska; died on 2 Apr 1988 in Fresno County, California. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
