- CUMBERLAND — Gary James Harper, 37, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. Born Aug. 21, 1975, in Cumberland, he was the son of Gary Dwight Harper and Carole Yvonne (Lucas) Harper. Gary was an avid golfer. He loved animals, he would often feed any wild game or other animals that would come to the home. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his two sisters, Deborah Opel and fiance Donald Fiorita and Pam Harper and fiance Rodney Smith; stepmother Mona Harper; three nephews Brandon, Jason, and Justin Opel and one niece, Destiny Harper. As per the family’s request, all services will be private. Pallbearers will be Justin Opel, Ronnie Lucas, Kenny Porter, Brian Miller, Kevin McKenzie and Keith Lucas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Harper may be made to the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A., to help defray the funeral expenses.
