- FINZEL - Gerald Lee "Jerry" Malone, 52, of Finzel, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the University of Maryland Medical Center of an embolism caused by a rare heart tumor. Born Nov. 15, 1949, in Cumberland, he was a son of Dorothy (Tipton) Malone, Finzel, and the late Van W. Malone. Jerry was also preceded in death by his son, Chad Montgomery Malone, and a brother, Delmas Malone. Jerry attended Fort Hill High School and was a graduate of Beall High School. Previously, he was employed by Raygold Cabinets, Paw Paw, W. Va., McIntyre Chevrolet, Casselman Motor Co., and Kaiser Refractories. Presently he was a self-employed upholsterer and farmer. Jerry loved his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting deer, especially bow, black powder, and firearms seasons. Also, Jerry liked nature programs, driving tractors, and antique cars. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Beverly (Crowe) Malone; two sons, Jason Lee Malone and girl friend Jina McKenzie, Damascus, and Clint David Malone and fiance Amy Burner, Mt. Airy; one daughter, Allison Diane Malone, at home; four brothers, William Malone and wife Julie, Findlay, Ohio; Ronald "Gale" Malone and wife Sharon, Finzel; Harold Malone and wife Debbie, Clifton, Va.; John Malone and wife Patti, Acworth, Ga.; one sister, Jill Rowley and husband Eric, Finzel; his mother-in-law, Corlista Crowe, Finzel; one sister-in-law, Bonnie (Crowe) Langan and husband James, Finzel; and special family friends, Natalie and David Carr, Annapolis, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., 60 W. Main St., Frostburg, on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 29 Pocahontas Road, on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steven Lightner officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel United Methodist Cemetery.
