- Michael Stanley Nair, 52, Aurora, W.Va., passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011, at his home. Born Jan. 3, 1959, in Oakland, he was a son of Naomi "Patsy" Nair, Aurora, and the late Therman Nair. Mike was a paramedic for Preston County for 19 years. He joined the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department in 1975 as a junior member and became a member in 1977. He loved being involved with the AVFD. He had collected 500 or more collectible fire trucks and enjoyed working with guns. He was a member of the Honorary Auxiliary Retired Teachers Association and an EMT for Union Ambulance. He also joined the Special Forces of the U.S. Army in 1977. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, David Nair and wife Stephanie, and Christopher Nair, both of Uniontown, Pa.; one daughter, Michelle Nair, Uniontown; one grandson, Andrew Nair, Uniontown; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by three special friends, Liz Daniels, Patty Arbogast, and Shad Green, whose love and consideration shown to Mike will never be forgotten. They were true friends to him at all times. Friends were received at the Aurora Memorial Building. A service was conducted at Brookside Church of the Brethren on Wednesday, June 29, with Pastor Scott Rush and Pastor Debbie Strawser officiating. Interment followed in Eglon Cemetery.
