- John A. Bolden III, 54, of Carlisle, Pa., formerly of Meyersdale, died June 19, 1999 at Carlisle Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1945 in Cumberland Md. A son of Mary Lois (Keegan) Bolden, Meyersdale and the late John A. Bolden Jr. Also survived by his wife, the former Karen K. Haines, and two children: John A. Bolden IV, Newberry Springs, Calif., and Kim Bolden, Carlisle. A brother of Robert Bolden, Somerset; Michael Bolden, Marilyn Price and Dr. Charles Bolden all of Meyersdale. Also 12 nephews; 5 nieces; 1 grandniece and 1 grandnephew. He was employed at the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Hampden Twp. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Carlisle; 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus; Our Lady of Queenship Council 4068 where he was past deputy Grand Knight; past Grand Knight; past Chancellor; former trustee; member of the 1st Degree Team; chairman of the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) Drive; chairman of the Sweepstakes Committee; member of Board of Directors of Home Association; member and Faithful navigator of Bishop J. W. Shanahan Assembly 917 where he was past Faithful Pilot, past Faithful Captain; diocesan Coordination Co-Chairman; chairman of 4th Degree Exemplification and past District Deputy of District 50. Veteran of U.S. Air Force where he served in Vietnam. While a resident of Meyersdale, he was a member of and past president of the Meyersdale Borough Council. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, with the Rev. Donald W. Dusza and the Rev. Francis Menei, co-celebrants. Committal will be at SS. Philip & James Cemetery, Meyersdale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Resurrection Monastery, PO Box 130, Newberry Springs, Calif. 92365. Somerset Daily American, June 23, 1999
