- FROSTBUG- Richard Joseph Dunn, 65, of Frostburg died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at home. Born in Cumberland on August 23, 1949 he was the son of the late Dorothy Mary (Taccino) Dunn and Richard Henry Dunn. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Mary Burke on Dec. 1, 2014. Richard was a loving husband, dad and pap. Richard was a life long car enthusiast and was currently President of the Tri-State Cruzers Car Club. Over the years, Richard created countless friendships with those who shared a passion for the automotive industry. He enjoyed his weekly breakfast with the Clockers at Kline's Restaurant on Thursday mornings and treasured the fellowship with his friends during Friday breakfast at the Princess Restaurant. During the cruise season, Richard enjoyed traveling locally and out of town to various car shows and other events. During winter months, he brushed up on history knowledge in preparation for the next trivia challenge. Richard graduated from Mt. Savage High School, Cathermans Business School, and was an honors graduate of Frostburg State University. He retired from the Allegany County Tax and Utility Office where he was employed as an accountant. He was a past member and held many positions in the Mt. Savage Fire Department, Shaft Fire Department, as well as the Maryland State Fireman's Association. He was a member of the FCC of Frostburg where he held the position of Assistant Treasurer until this year. Surviving are his wife of 42 years Beverly (Drew) Dunn, his daughter Lisa Marie Peterson and husband Kevin of Frostburg, son Daniel Lee Dunn and wife Amy of Cumberland. Three grandsons, who he idolized Wyatt, Rowan and Ryker. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his granddaughter due in April. He is also survived by brother Donald Dunn and wife Linda of Cumberland and sister Diana Folk and husband Russ Pugh of Mt. Savage. Brother in law Robert Duncan of Frostburg, step-mother in law Mary Elmira Drew and her daughter Jeannie and husband Junior Porter of Frostburg. A special cousin Carol Barry as well as many nieces, nephews, and other cousins. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 with Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating. Pallbearers will be Gary O'Baker, Gene King, Mel Corley, Mark Monnett, Mick O'Neal, and Ed Harvey. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the FCCC, 101 Bowery Street, Frostburg, MD 21532 or to a charity of the donor's choice in Richard's honor.
