- Roxanne Durr, 66, of Frostburg, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at her daughter's home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness. Born Nov. 13, 1951, in Frostburg, Mrs. Durr was the daughter of Betty Jane (Lee) Layman, Frostburg, and the late Wayne M. Layman. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Lee. A graduate of Beall High School and Catherman's Business School, Roxanne was a homemaker and former employee of First United Bank and Trust. She loved flower gardening and tending to her two small ponds. Roxanne enjoyed walking and spending time with her grandchildren and also visiting her daughter's horse, Diamond. She was always willing to help anyone. Besides her mother, Roxanne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger Durr; her son, Roger Durr, II, and fiancée, Angie Giffin; and her daughter, Amanda Kitis and husband, Dwayne. She also leaves behind her brother, Rick Layman; her sister, Betsy Felton; her grandchildren, Adam Durr and Garrett Kitis; and her step grandson, Tanner Shearer. Per Roxanne's request, she will be cremated and there will be no services. The family would like to give a special thank you to Garrett County Homecare, Garrett County Home Hospice, the Hillman Cancer Center, Pittsburgh, PA; Shadyside UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA; and all the doctors, nurses, aides, and anyone who took great care of Roxanne. A special thank you to Roxanne's daughter and son-in-law, for caring for her at their home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Roxanne's name to the Garrett County Home Hospice, Post Office Box #271, Oakland, MD 21550.
