- GRANTSVILLE — Mervin Leroy Kamp, 51, of Grantsville, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at his home. Born July 14, 1963, in Cumberland, he was the son of Gale and Susie (Wilhelm) Kamp, Avilton. Mervin was employed at Hill Top Fruit Market, Grantsville. In addtion to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Peggy J. (McFarland) Kamp; one son, Jason Kamp and wife, Tinsa, Grantsville; two grandchildren, Cara and Liam Kamp; five brothers, Gregg Kamp and wife, Joyce, Perry Kamp and wife, Kathy, Galen Kamp and wife, Karlinda, Kelby Kamp and wife, Stephanie and Darrin Kamp, all of Avilton; two sisters, Victoria Hordubay and husband, Elmer, Pocahontas, Pa., Brenda Jones and husband, Jerry, Avilton. He adored his grandchildren and enjoyed their visits. Mervin liked helping others, gardening and working in his yard and, of course, his pride and joy was his John Deere tractor. He will be sadly missed by his family. A private funeral service will be held at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville.
