- Harold C. Klink, 92, of LaVale, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born on Sept. 6, 1924, he was the son of the late Calvert Klink and Nellie (Eisler) Klink Shroyer Caton. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Marie (Snyder) Klink; son, Leslie Calvin Klink; brothers, Bill, Donald, Robert and James Klink. Harold was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Navy. Following his discharge, he worked on the assembly line at Kelly Springfield Tire Company. He also worked for 15 years at Harbison-Walker Brick Plant in Grantsville. He was an honorary lifetime member of Farrady Post 24 American Legion in Frostburg and VFW Henry Hart Post 1411 in Cumberland. Surviving are granddaughters, Kathleen Lewis and husband, Jamie of Klondike, Leslie Abbott Gill and husband, Charles of Fredrick, Christina Ann Klink of Delaware, Wilma Klink of Finzel; six great-grandchildren; half-brother, Louis Shroyer and wife, Nancy; half-sister, Hilda Jane Loar; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be in Eckhart Cemetery on Tuesday. Jan. 3, 2016, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Joe Penick officiating. Published on December 31, 2016 in Cumberland Times News
