- William Cecil Winebrenner, Sr., 91, of Frostburg, MD, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frostburg. Born November 27, 1923, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Henry and Mary (Bishop) Winebrenner. He was also preceded in death by one son, James Winebrenner. Mr. Winebrenner was a press operator for the former Harbison-Walker Refractories and a U.S. Army veteran of WW2. He was a member of Farrady American Legion Post 24, Frostburg and V.F.W., Mt. Savage, MD. He is survived by his wife, Flora Leona (Butler) Winebrenner; six sons, Raymond Winebrenner and wife, Sharon, Salisbury, PA; Roger Winebrenner and wife, Patty, Frostburg; Donald Winebrenner, Grantsville, MD; David Winebrenner and wife, Julie, Jasper, IN; Brian Winebrenner and wife, Michelle, Fairmont, WV; William Winebrenner, Jr., Frostburg; one daughter, Marlene Evans and husband, Charles, Grantsville; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Twigg officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery, Rocky Gap, Flintstone, MD. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Northern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
