    • LAVALE — Mary Ellen Amann, 97, of LaVale, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving children and their spouses. Born April 2, 1916, in her home, Frostburg, Mrs. Amann was the daughter of the late John William Keating and Mary “Ella” Ellen (Winner) Keating. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Leo Jacob Amann, March 23, 1992; her brothers, Charles, John, Thomas, Joseph and James Keating; her sisters, Delores Wolf, Julia Clites, Ursula Reburn, and Agnes Knepper; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary attended the Ursaline Academy and was formerly employed at the Celanese Fiber Corporation of America during World War II, Joe’s Hardware, Sears, and Rosenbaum’s. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Order of Franciscan Secular and Christian Mothers. Mary was a devoted loving wife and mother who lived her Christian ideals everyday and she inspired her family. She was a homemaker who loved to bake and cook for her family. Her love for her family was always in her heart and mind. We will miss you, you were our guiding light. Mary is survived by her children, Mary Ellen Fish and husband, Donald, Front Royal, Va., John L. Amann and wife, Cathy, LaVale, and Timothy C. Amann and wife, Patty, Meyersdale, Pa. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Patricia Ann Fish, Mark Daniel Amann and wife, Angie, Tara Sargent and husband, Andrew, Kerrie Amann, Alisha Hartman and husband, Cheyenne, Sarah Fish and her boyfriend, Neal Rozie, Katie Eastwood and husband, Eric, and Megan Amann; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Amann, Sarah Amann, Jacob Hartman, Wyatt Eastwood; and due in July, Cora Grace Eastwood. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, SS. Peter and Paul Shrine, on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Father Greg Chervenak O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mary’s name to Saint Anthony’s Place, 109 North Smallwood St., Cumberland, MD 21502. Cumberland Times-News, May 30, 2013
