- FROSTBURG — Joseph Michael Donahue, 95, passed away at Frostburg Village Nursing Home on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, after a short illness. He was born in Huffman. Joseph was the son of the late Hugh and Geraldine (Hughes) Donahue. He was also preceed in death by his wife, Margaret Lucas Donahue; a daughter, Maureen Durst; one son, James Donahue and wife Phyllis “Dean”, long-time companion, Beatrice Baer; one granddaughter, Kathy Diane DeHaven; two sisters, Angela Weisenborn, Rita Conroy; and one brother, John Donahue. He is survived by one sister, Ann Cascio of Silver Spring; one step-son, Glenn Baer and wife Joyce of Annapolis; son-in-law, Dennis Durst of Hagerstown; five granddaughters, Lorri Holliday and husband Eric of Grantsville, Janet Winnebrenner and husband Joe of Moorefield, Dee Dee Platter and husband Dave of Smithburg, Laura Baer of Annapolis, Patty Drish and husband Dale of Martinsburg; grandsons, Tim Durst and wife Mary, Mike Durst and companion Joyce of Bethesda, Josh Baer and wife Mariana of Annapolis; and 17 great-grandchildren. Joseph was a member of St. Michaels Church. Mr. Donahue was a member of the U.S. Navy. He was a faithful and lifetime member of many clubs in Frostburg, including the Eagles, Elks, Moose and Legion. He was a retired iron worker. He enjoyed going to Florida each year to see his extended family. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Fr. Ed Hendericks officating. Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery with military honors by Farrady Post 24. Cumberland Times-News, September 9, 2010
