Gilbert Minnick, 49, and his wife, Mildred (Layman) Minnick, both former Frostburgers, indicted by a special Delaware grand jury in the blasting of the only Negro home in a suburban development near Wilmington. "Weekly News Digest" The Cumberland Sunday Times, September 27, 1959

Gilbert Minnich, 53-year-old former Frostburger who was convicted in 1959 along with others in the bombing of a Wilmington, Del., suburban home, was granted a parole yesterday by the Delaware State Board of Parole. The parole board, meeting at New Castle, Del., Correctional Institute, ruled that Minnich be released March 19 when he will have completed one-half of a three-year term. Minnich and others were arrested after the only home occupied by a Negro family, in previously all-white Collins Park, was damaged by a dynamite blast in 1959. The former Frostburg man was sentenced to four years on a technical charge of burglary and conspiracy to burglarize the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Rayfield in Collins Park. Minnich's original four-year term was commuted to three years by Gov. Elbert N. Carvel on recommendation of the Delaware State Board of Pardons. While he was in the correctional institution, Minnich was admitted to the Delaware State Hospital for treatment and observation. He had been sent to the hospital by Delaware Supreme Court order at the request of the State Board of Correction which presented evidence that a nervous disorder had caused him to lose his appetite and weight. Minnich began to improve at the hospital, regained weight, and was returned to the correctional institution last month. Minnich is the only person in the bombing case still in prison. The Cumberland Evening Times, February 16, 1963

Mildred Louise and Gilbert were both convicted of the bombing in September 1959.

He died on 1 Jun 1983 at the age of 73 in Delaware.
