She was a daughter of the late Robert and Rosy (Skidmore) Layman. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, James and Paul James, at home; two daughters, Sandra and Janet James, both at home; four sisters, Mrs. Venona Ware, Midlothian; Mrs. Hilda Soba, Detroit; Mrs. Mae Croston, Hoffman, and Mrs. Vivian Winehrenner, Shaft, and three brothers, James, Matthew and William Layman, all of Detroit.
