  Notes	FROSTBURG — James Lewis Layman, 72, formerly of Carlos, died Sunday at his winter residence in Seminole, Fla. He had been in ill health the past year. Born in Carlos, he was a son of the late Robert and Rose (Skidmore) Layman. Surviving are his widow, Florence ( McGregor) Layman; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon Smart, of Michigan; a brother, William Layman, Northville, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. Hilda Soba, Inkster, Mich., and Mrs. Mae Crosten, Frostburg. A service will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at the Northrop Funeral Home. Interment will be in Detroit. The Cumberland News, December 21, 1976
