  Notes	FROSTBURG — Emma Marcella “Marcie” Groer, 81, of Frostburg, died of cancer Friday, May 24, 2011, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg. Marcie was the daughter of the late Edward and Lula (Crowe) Wampler. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lawrence Dale Groer, on Dec. 15, 2010, concurrent with Marcie becoming very ill herself; a son, Joseph; a brother, Edwin Wampler and a sister, Rosa McKenzie. Mrs. Groer graduated from Grantsville High School, raised her family and then became employed by the Garrett County Health Department until retirement. She served in various positions there, but mostly enjoyed her service as Health Room Aid at Northern High School. She enjoyed her family, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was an active member and officer for many years in the Young Democrats Club of Garrett County. She is survived by three children, daughter, Marilyn Groer Richter, of Frostburg; son, James E. Groer and wife Shandy; two granddaughters, Eleeza and Emmelia Mae, of Ridgeley, W.Va.; son, John Groer and his wife Connie, of Bel Air, and many nieces and nephews. At the request of Marcie her body was cremated and hoped that a joint memorial service for her and her husband would be held at a later date, when all immediate family members can attend. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of arrangements. Cumberland Times-News, June 25, 2011 Emma Marcella WAMPLER and Lawrence Dale GROER were married on 19 Jul 1947 in Mt. Zion Welsh Baptist Memorial Church, Frostburg, Maryland.
