Boone; two brothers, Kenneth Crowe and Wilfred Crowe; and one sister, Leatta McKenzie. Mrs. Boone was a retired employee from the Kelly Springfield Tire Company. Surviving are three daughters, Zelda Stanton and husband Charles, Grantsville; Marlene Shipley and husband Mike, Frostburg; and Retha Wilt, LaVale; one son, Allen Beeman and wife Melanie, Gloucester, Va.; one sister, Iva DeHaven, Winchester, Va.; seven grandchildren, Michelle Brobst, Julia Haines, Michael Shipley, Rhonda Yeager, Miranda Shipley, Ronald Wilt, Jr., and Trisha Wilt; four great-grandchildren, Rachel and Emily Brobst, Chandler Haines, and Brandon Wilt; and numerous nieces and nephews. George R. Loar officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, following the service. Evelyn was a fiercely independent woman, working to support her family during a time when most women stayed home. And though she worked for over twenty years at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company, her life remained forever centered on her children, and her support and loyalty to them was constant and unwavering. Evelyn lived without apology, and she was a constant source of strength and fiery determination. Her life was an example and inspiration to her family and friends, and while her physical presence is gone, her spirit lives on in those who have been fortunate enough to know and love her. She continues to inspire us with the memory of her dignity, faith, and courage. Cumberland Times Obituary
