- J. Richard Jones, 65, of 138 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, died March 25 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Born April 29, 1923 in Somerset, son of the late Walter B. Jones and his mother, Bernadette (Crowe) Jones, of Columbia. He was retired from Kinney Service Corp. in Shiremanstown, and was a member of St. Johns' Lutheran Church, Dillsburg. He was a former resident of Somerset and was a direct descendent of Harmon Husband, founder of Somerset. He was a member of the American Legion and the Krause Cadets, the 8th Army Band and was a drum instructor of the Tam O'Shanters. He was an army veteran of the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife, Marian M. (Bittner); two sons, James D., of Grantville; and Richard C. of Dillsburg.Two daughters, Pamela A. Fahey, of Dillsburg, and Carol D., at home. A twin brother, J. Donald, of Lancaster, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Franklin Church Road, Dillsburg, with the Rev. Dr. John A. Rodgers, officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Church. Somerset Daily American, March 28, 1989
