- Mr. Edward Charles "Jack" Sanders, 79, of Wilmington, died peacefully Saturday evening, May 3, 2003, with his family at his bedside."Jack" was born August 12, 1923, in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Elmer and Stella Crowe Sanders. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Sanders; his four children, Jennifer Riker and husband Rick of Wilmington, Abigail Garner of Wilmington, Sandie Miller and husband James of Chicago, IL, and Carter Sanders of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Jason Garner of Wilmington, Bryan Garner of Roanoke, VA, Heather Miller of Chicago, IL; and one great-granddaughter, Sierra Garner of Roanoke, VA; and a sister, Mrs. William Davis of Baltimore, MD. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at the Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel by the Reverend Amanda McCullough. In "Jack's" memory, the family requests that memorials be made to the Coastal Adult Day Care, 5919 Oleander Drive, Suite 121, Wilmington, N.C. 28403.
