- Milton Lee Crowe, 68, Cumberland, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at his home. Born June 19, 1931, at New Germany, he was a son of the late Samuel Webster Crowe and Melva Leora (Broadwater) Crowe. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Hubert Crowe, Owen Crowe, and Archie Crowe. He was a member of the Bedford Road Baptist Church. He retired after 34 years of service from the Cumberland Coca-Cola Bottling Company, where he was a warehouse manager. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a sergeant in the Engineer Corps. He was a member of the NRA, a life member of DAV, a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, and the Fort Hill Rifle and Pistol Club. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra Lee (Twigg) Crowe; one daughter, Shelly Lee Cox, Newark, Del.; two sons, Danny Lee Crowe, Middletown, Del., and Deane Lee Crowe, Cumberland; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Diona Broadwater, Avilton, Arlene Morris, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Helen Broadwater, Salisbury, Pa. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joseph DiNicola officiating. Interment will follow in the New Germany Methodist Cemetery.
