- Frostburg, Md., Feb. 26 - The funeral of Harold Layman, 34, who died Sunday evening at Miners' Hospital, following an operation for an abscess on the brain, will be held at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Church, Garrett county.* Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mt. Layman, a resident of Avilton, is survived by his widow and the following children: Viola, Jack, Marie, June, Junior, and an infant son. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Layman; two brothers, Lee of Mt. Savage and Everett at home; and also two sisters, Blanche of New Germany and Margaret of Meyersdale. Mr. Layman was a farmer occupying what is known as the Richard Layman farm in the Avilton section of Garrett county. The Cumberland Evening Times, February 26, 1935 [*no date was given]
