Born September 26, 1888 in Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Clara (Crowe) Dean. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Catherine (Jack) Dean; a son, James R. Dean, 410 Polk Street, Cumberland; a daughter, Mrs. James Shipe, 425 Cumberland Street, Cumberland; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Wilson, Mrs. Nellie Drumm, Mrs. Martha Cole, all of Cumberland; one brother, Robert Dean, LaVale, Md. Services will be conducted oday at 2 p. m. at Mickel Funeral Home here with Rev. Daniel G. Kratz officiating. Interment will be in Schellsburg Cemetery. The Cumberland News, June 26, 1967 He was buried on 26 Jun 1967 in Schellsburg Cemetery, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.
