- FROSTBURG — George Dewey ( Dude) DeVore Sr., 76, of 27 Uhl Street, was pronounced dead on arrival yesterday at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born at Grahamtown, he was a son of the late Johnson and Aurellia (Crowe) DeVore. Mr. DeVore was a retired coal miner and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Della (Jenkins) DeVore, Carlisle, Pa.; two sons, George D., Jr., Carlisle, and James A. DeVore, with whom he resided; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Duckworth, Warren, Pa., and Mrs. Carolyn Jayce, Carlisle; two brothers, Victor, Grahamtown, and Leonard DeVore, Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Plummer, Mrs. Ora Tomlinson and Mrs. Ernest Plummer, all of Grahamtown, and Mrs. Mildred Taylor, Palm Bay, Fla.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The body is at the Frost Mansion Funeral Home where friends will be received tomorrow and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Cumberland News, February 1, 1974
