- Mrs. Leota E. Crowe, 70, former resident, died Wednesday at Springfield State Hospital where she had been a patient 18 months. Born in Garrett County, she was a daughter of the late David and Elizabeth (Bonig) Pope. Her husband, Orvil T. Crowe, died in 1947. She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Iva DeHaven, Gainsborough, Va.; Mrs. Leatta McKenzie, Finzel, and Mrs. Evelyn Beeman, Frostburg; two sons, Kenneth 0. Crowe, Indianhead, Pa., and Wilfred Crowe, Finzel; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Michaels and Mrs. Minnie Merrill, Star Route, Frostburg; one brother, Herbert Pope, Star Route, Frostburg; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
