Notes	Frostburg - Alvan O. Cook, 74, of 29 Trazewell Street, Fredericksburg, Va., a former resident, died yesterday at Mary Washington Hospital there. He had been in ill health several months. A native of Frostburg, he was a son of the late William H. and Janet (Morton) Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of the Fredericksburg Methodist Church, a former member of First Methodist of Frostburg, a member of Mountain Lodge 99, AF&AM; a past master of the lodge; a past high priest of Ohr Lodge 26, Mountain Council 17; a past commander of the Knights of Templar; a past patron of Mountain Chapter 15, Order of Eastern Star, and a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Arta (Murphy) Cook; two daughters, Miss Olive Cook, Silver Spring, and Mrs. Kathryn Savastane, Wilmington, Dela.; two brothers, Dr. Russell J. Cook, Cumberland, and Morton Cook, Gaithersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Gilbert, Gaithersburg, and Mrs. Violet Payne, Frostburg, and one grandson. The body will be returned to the Durst Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p. m. by Rev. Leonard B. Ranson. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Lodge 99 AF & AM will hold a service at the funeral home today at 7:30 p. m. The Cumberland News, October 25, 1967
