- Lonaconing - Mrs. Gertrude M. Harper, 72, of Harpersville, near Gilmore, died yesterday in Miners Hospital, Frostburg. A native of Pekin, she was a daughter of the late George and Clara (Crowe) Jackson. Her husband, William Harper, preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Kight, National, and Mrs. Virginia Diggs, Harpersville; a son, Kenneth Harper, Cresaptown, and a sister, Mrs. Francis Himmelwright, Cumberland; a brother, Edward Jackson, Pekin; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Eichhorn Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. by Rev. Louis Emerick. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. The Cumberland News, January 7, 1964
